LITERACY PROJECT in the plateau region of Kuma apoti
In Togo, illiteracy affects around 43.3% of young people and adults aged 15 to 44, or 977,000 people, more than two-thirds of whom are women (670,000). The literacy issue concerns women more
but also men. Women are more affected by its consequences during their activities, trade for example (account, credit notes, etc.).
The DZIDZO association works in the field of education, touched by these glaring figures, we have implemented a "LITERACY PROJECT" in the plateau region in the village of Kuma
apoti. The official launch of the project took place on November 06, 2021, a total of 25 learners benefited from the course materials, thus beyond the classic concept of a set
skills in reading, writing and arithmetic, this project will allow the target to acquire means of identification,
understanding, interpretation, creation and communication in an increasingly digital world. They will have reading, writing,
calculations but also the use of telephones…. The project aims to contribute to improving the literacy level of the target population. More
specifically, it is about teaching learners not only notions of reading and calculations, but also teaching them to integrate these notions into their
everyday life, in their business, with their children and relatives. In the long term, financial support will be offered to them for an Income Generating Activity (IGA) of their choice.
AKLIKU Komi Nomessi - President
Doctor of Medicine, specialist in public health and occupational health, Alumnus of the Fulbright Program in the United States of America. He has been, in turn, head physician of the Binah district hospital
of the Binah District Hospital, Medical Officer for the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and Epidemiologist for the Nebraska State Department of Health.
IDOH Kokou - Vice President
PhD in Animal Physiology and Pharmacology. He is a Research Fellow at the Institut Togolais de Recherche Agronomique (ITRA) and is currently working in three main areas: (i) animal health
(ii) development of biopesticides for integrated pest management; (iii) valorization of medicinal plants and functional foods in the treatment and prevention of human and animal pathologies.
BATAO Mawunya - General Secretary
The General Secretary is a lawyer with a Master's degree in Environmental Law and Policy, and currently runs the Pol'consulting firm and works as a freelance lawyer.
DOHOUE Aziz Thibaut - Assistant General Secretary
State-qualified nurse with a Master's degree in public health, specializing in the management and administration of healthcare services, institutions and facilities.
SOGBEY Colette - General Treasurer
Degree in Humanitarian Action and Categorical Protection. Responsible for child protection projects in emergency situations at the Agence Nationale de Protection Civile (ANPC).
TETE Sena - Assistant General Treasurer
State-qualified nurse, Master's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion option, Communications and Marketing Project Manager in charge of public and institutional relations at the National Blood Transfusion Center.
ETSE Kokou Mokpokpo - Logistics manager
Holder of a Bachelor's degree in marketing management and strategy. He is currently in charge of procurement at the Coopérative d'Épargne et de Crédit des Artisans (CECA).
DEGBOEVI Yawo - 1st Advisor
State-qualified nurse, Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety and Public Health. He is Treasurer General of the NGO Aimes Afrique and Deputy Director General of the television channel SOS Docteur TV.
NYASENU Kokouvi Agbéko - 2nd Advisor
Doctorate in medicine and working as a company doctor in a factory and Director of a health center in Kovié, a suburb of Lomé.
LAWSON Fabrice - Senior auditor
Doctor of Medicine, specializing in ophthalmology at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) Sylvanus Olympio.
ADSI Patatchona Médédé - Second auditor
State-qualified nurse. He works at the CHU Sylvanus Olympio in the pediatrics department.
